Jonathan Wellum joined AIC Limited in 1990 and has served as a member of AIC's senior management team. In August 2002, he was appointed Chief Investment Officer. In October 2006, Jonathan was appointed Chief Executive Officer.

He currently manages AIC Diversified Canada Fund, and oversees AIC Private Portfolio Counsel which includes AIC’s institutional and high net worth business. In addition, Jonathan co-manages a number of exchange-traded funds focused on the financial services industry, along with AIC American Advantage Fund. Prior to joining AIC, he held positions in corporate accounting at Deloitte & Touche as well as CUMIS Insurance. Jonathan is currently a senior fellow for Cardus (formerly the Work Research Foundation).

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Administration degree from McMaster University, and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo. He completed his formal education with a Master of Arts degree in Theology from Trinity Seminary (Chicago). He also holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
