Systems Quality Assurance Specialist
Reporting to: Manager, Business Alignment
Education:
  • Bachelors Degree/College Diploma required (Area of study: Information Technology).
  • ITIL* Foundations, ITIL* Practitioner, Quality Assurance Certification required.

Work Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in overseeing the design, development and implementation of quality assurance standards for software testing.
  • Experience as a lead tester for major application integration and / or major application product release.
  • Experience with Unitrax desired.
  • Hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs, automated testing tools, and reporting software.
Essential Functions:
  • Lead the development and establishment of quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development lifecycle.
  • Mentor and guide junior QA Analysts, and department super-users on the QA methodology and best practices necessary to manage the changes to the infrastructure and applications.
  • Establish the communication process for cross-department impacts.
  • Manage the coordination of resources and impact assessment for changes that require Quality Assurance testing.
  • Evaluate risks and communicate risks to business unit leaders.
  • Prepare test strategy documents, coordinate preparation of test scripts, test results, status reports, risk reports and recommendations.
  • Collaborate, and coordinate software development / systems integration testing teams to ensure complete application testing standards are followed, such as systems, unit, regression, load, and user acceptance testing.
  • Coordinate the development of in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new applications, including:
    • Training and review of test scripts.
    • Development of impact documents, to evaluate future impacts.
  • Test any new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications.
  • Create and execute test plans and scripts that determine optimal application performance according to specifications.
  • Analyze test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
  • Research and training, investigation of new best practices.
