Chris Lowe has 25 years global financial services experience, working in four continents.
A Senior Executive of Barclays Bank (1994-2000) he was CEO of Barclays’ businesses in Greece (1994-1995) and Botswana (1997-2000). The Banker magazine ranked Barclays as the "Best Bank" in Botswana and the "Best Bank" in Africa in 2000. Thereafter, as CEO of the National Commercial Bank Jamaica, Limited (“NCB”) he led the financial services group to recognition as the world’s 14th highest profits growth performer in 2002. Upon acquisition of NCB indirectly by AIC Limited, he joined AIC Limited in October 2002.
Chris’ responsibilities include anticipating industry trends across global financial services; recommending potential investments or divestitures and monitoring and evaluating performance of AIC Funds’ bank-based holdings.
Chris is also the CEO of Copernican Capital Corp., an affiliate company of AIC, which structures and offers differentiated retail investment products listed on the TSX.
Chris has a BA degree from University of North Wales and an MBA from University of Exeter. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and holds their Financial Diploma.
